Cancer Types

Any cancer can cause leptomeningeal cancer, but certain types of cancer are more likely to spread to the leptomeninges. These cancers include:

Breast cancer
Lung cancer
Melanoma
Gastrointestinal cancers
Primary central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) tumors
Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL)
Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL)
Pediatric cancers
