In Memory of Brittney S. Moniz
Brittney S. (Miilu) Moniz, 35, Janesville, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.
She was born April 9, 1991 in Wausau, daughter of Kathy (Quednow) Miilu and the late Thomas Miilu. Brittney graduated from University of Minnesota Duluth with a Biochemistry degree where she met her husband Zach. On June 6th, 2020 she married Zachary Moniz in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Brittney was employed as a Supplier Quality Engineer at Medline. She had a passion for finding solutions and helping her team succeed.
Brittney loved cheering on her Green Bay Packers even having so many Minnesota Viking friends!! But her greatest joy in life were her two children, Hank and Camryn.
Brittney enjoyed being outdoors every chance possible, between long walks, boat days, yearly trips to Leech lake, and ice fishing at multiple lakes across Minnesota and Wisconsin. You could always catch her enjoying God’s creations.
She was involved in Girl Scouts for many years and received the Silver award.
Brittney graduated from Wausau West High School in 2009. During high school, Brittney played softball along with track and field. She was also a football manager and curled all four years. In her senior year of curling, she was the skip (captain of the team). During the championship game for high school state curling, Brittney made an incredible shot to win the title. Her brother Brandon is still mad at her that she got one and he didn’t.
Survivors include her husband, Zachary, Janesville MN, her beautiful children, Hank 4 and Camryn 2, her mother, Kathy Miilu, her brother, Brandon Miilu, Goddaughter Leighton Warner, Godson Benjamin Banks, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Brittney was preceded in death by her father Thomas Miilu, brother Kyle Miilu, grandparents Helen and Joseph Quednow and Mildred and Walter Miilu, and uncles Gene Ostrowski, Dale Quednow, and David Jones.
